The ecampus4learn personal learning environment: creating, developing, exploring, connecting and sharing

eCampus4Learn is a continuous training process that goes beyond simple online teaching, using network technologies to design, distribute, select, manage, and expand learning.
The training/educational system through which eCampus4Learn delivers its courses makes use of:


  • a Virtual learning Environment (VLE);
  • an e-Portfolio;
  • a set of Tools Web 2.0.

All these tools contribute to creating a Personal Learning Environment (PLE) for each student, which can be left at the student’s disposal even after the training course has ended.


eCampus4Learn focuses on dynamism, modularity and interactivity, key elements in the design of content that can be delivered via the internet, actually stripping the education system of its traditional and static appearance. Instead of courses distributed indiscriminately to all students, the new educational vision of eCampus4Learn offers student-centred educational solutions, involving students in a virtual environment that supports and guides them step by step, encouraging them to interact with teachers and other students. All this also encourages the creation of collective learning contexts, both online and blended (forums, blogs, e-Portfolios, seminars, etc.).


In particular, the eCampus4Learn VLE uses:


  • • a software for managing and displaying content, the Content Management System (CMS) which allows the management of all displays and content types across the entire eCampus4Learn system;
  • the Learning Management System (LMS), an application platform for delivering courses and learning objects, which also allows tracking of all online teaching activities carried out on the eCampus4Learn platform, both delivery and interactive (lesson viewing time, multiple-choice tests, assessments, exercises, etc.), a necessary tool for certifying the activities carried out by students; to complement the LMS, the system also offers the possibility of using a Learning Record Store to archive records of online study carried out on complementary platforms.

OTHER FEATURES

SINGLE SIGN-ON

Accessing the VLE’s features is quick and easy: with a single authentication in the SSO (Single Sign-On system), students and teachers can access all the features offered by the eCampus4Learn VLE.

COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT

A specific environment for collaborative/cooperative e-tivities, consisting of the C-Map and eCampus Wiki platforms, as well as other collaborative environments such as forums, where students can consult and download educational materials.

E-PORTFOLIO AND WEB DISK

The virtual classroom experience is enriched by the secure and immediate exchange and collection of large and small educational documents (files, videos, images) thanks to the integrated e-Portfolio and web-disk tools of eCampus4Learn.
