eCampus4Learn’s integrated educational platform
Usability and accessibility
provides a more efficient and scalable way of managing information, ensuring that resources are always up-to-date, relevant and accessible at all times through the use of cloud technology.
Ecampus4Learn offers integrated solutions to store, deliver and manage all types of content. The Learning Repository provides easy access to editorial content, library and other open educational resources, using standards such as SCORM and OPAC.
Our lesson acquisition mode, seamlessly integrated into the portal, allows webcasts and multimedia presentations to be easily shared with online users.
For institutions wishing to offer MOOCs, we guarantee flexibility and control over their content. Institutions retain ownership of the documents and data, control their pathway, usability and import within the Ecampus4Learn platform.
Access to courses and the platform is constantly monitored and therefore traceable, right from the moment of enrolment, through the date and time of the start of the activity, the course performed, the time spent, and the date and time of the end of the activity.
Disabled students and DSA
According to the most recent statistics, one pupil in seventeen, or 6% of the Italian population, is affected by specific learning disorders. In terms of percentage composition, the most diagnosed disorders are dyslexia, accounting for 36% of the total, followed by dysorthographia with 23%, dyscalculia and dysgraphia with 21.5% and 19.5% of the total respectively.
According to the national system, inclusive education in Law 170/2010, Article 5, paragraph 2, guarantees ‘the introduction of compensatory tools, including alternative learning media and information technology…”. In this sense, it is important to emphasize the need to integrate the use of the most modern technologies available with innovative inclusive teaching strategies for the development of a new model of study that is more aware and, more generally, more conducive to the development of a higher level of student autonomy.
To overcome this inconvenience and make the courses accessible to all, eCampus4Learn uses an infrastructure based on the standards of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Access to content is thus also allowed and encouraged for people with physical disabilities of various kinds and those with limited hardware and software tools, through the open-source software NVDA, compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Available anytime, anywhere
Taking into account the dynamism of modern society and the ever-increasing need to travel, eCampus4Learn has succeeded in overcoming the physical barriers of classrooms and home walls by extending access to the platform through tablets and smartphones. Students and professors can interact with courses, services and resources wherever and whenever they wish.
The eCampus platform can be used from tablets and mobile devices with Windows, Android, Symbian, RIM and iOS operating systems. Just as from a PC, you can manage course progress, view video lessons and lessons delivered in high resolution and attend live university events.
Instant availability
Designed to meet the demands of an ever-growing number of students, the eCampus4Learn platform continuously delivers courses and updates, easily and quickly offering the latest innovations.
The usability of the services is always ensured, even when the flow of users increases, such as during exam period, course registration or the beginning of the semester. Updates are fast and downloadable at any time.
Data security, real-time backup and no additional costs are indispensable guarantees that eCampus4Learn offers to all educational institutions.
Integrations
The open programming interfaces (API), which eCampus4Learn makes use of, allow the integration of the VLE infrastructure with any other application in use at other institutions, while fully respecting the teaching methods already in use.
Customization
Developing competences
eCampus4Learn does not propose a classic, general approach to learning, where each course is applied to a large number of students, where everyone has to achieve the same objectives, the curricular proposal is defined by the educational staff and the learner’s capacity for self-direction is secondary; but rather a personalized training method, with different objectives for everyone, active participation of the student in the construction of his or her own course and a high regard for the student’s self-training. The e-Portfolio plays a key role in this new vision of the educational process.
Flexible teaching: tools and training
With an increasing number of students experiencing difficulties with face-to-face attendance, the use of new technologies for learning becomes crucial for any institution. eCampus4Learn promotes the adoption of new tools by offering assistance to institutions and teachers, including training programmes, operating manuals and ongoing support.
As further support, eCampus4Learn offers a forum for online tutors and professors to exchange tips, methodologies and processes to facilitate the transition from the traditional to the online and/or blended learning environment.
The services and tools offered by the eCampus4Learn VLE are a valuable aid for teaching staff, as they enable professors and teaching assistants to optimize the preparation time of lessons and teaching materials through macro and micro design programmes (EPPI).
Years of experience in the education sector make eCampus4Learn’s infrastructure reliable and user-friendly, guaranteeing maximum precision and security both when uploading courses from scratch and when transferring them from other institutions’ platforms to eCampus4Learn’s.
Lifelong learning
The aim of higher education institutions and universities is to enrich the skills of their students and then place them in the world of work. Helping students to improve their personal qualifications means supporting them on their life-long journey, which does not end with the end of their educational courses. The eCampus4Learn VLE supports these needs via the Personal Learning Environment (PLE), a personal area that remains with the user.
Continuous access to the e-Portfolio, an essential tool in the education of each individual student, encourages the student to cultivate new cultural interests even after graduation.
