Interaction

The methods of interaction and use of learning activities are intended to guarantee:

a) the support of students’ motivation throughout their education, creating a social context of collaborative learning;

b) a good level of didactic interaction, promoting the active role of students;

c) a modulation adapted to the characteristics of each student or group of students.

For all the subjects of the course, the VLE has a specific section for direct (synchronous) teacher-student interaction and another, again specific but asynchronous, section dedicated to recording feedback from the teacher on individual e-activities carried out by students. For synchronous interaction, the professors can make use of:

a Virtual Office, which allows students to access the candidates’ online reception and waiting room. This system includes video-call and the possibility of using shared blackboard/desktops;

periodically hold Webinars/Virtual Classrooms, which consist of lessons/exercise sessions on the thematic sections of the subject with the possibility of sharing files and conversations (chat), in which students can participate subject to prior booking.

deliver synchronous lessons, also in mass mode (no booking required).

For asynchronous interaction, the professors can use the section called “My Students”, which offers the possibility to:

exchange messages and attachments via institutional e-mail and the “Messaging System” on the platform;

co-ordinating online collaborative or cooperative e-activities of student groups on eCampus C-MAP and Wiki platforms;

participating in their own teaching forums and FAQs, posting topics for students and/or replying to them;

viewing the intra-course exercises carried out by students, submit files, enter judgements/assessments and any commentary notes and attach and submit a file as a solution and/or further study on the activity carried out.

viewing all the data related to the student’s career, as well as the results of the self-assessment tests;

check the number of scheduled lessons and the number of lessons delivered on the date of verification.

LThe student learning activity monitoring functions are based on the automatic tracking, by the Learning Management System (LMS), of the learning activities carried out online by the students (lecture delivery, performance and evaluation of e-activities, multiple-choice tests, etc.) and are accessible, at different scales, to students, teachers and tutors.

The e-Portfolio allows professors and tutors to directly monitor student activity and certify both the ongoing assessment process and the summative assessment process for individual lessons. Teachers are also able to view all the e-activities carried out for each student and to enter both individual evaluations, an overall assessment and personal notes: everything is instantly made available to the learner in the personal study area.

To facilitate peer-to-peer discussion, the VLE also integrates a Forum, dedicated to students for exchanging opinions and advice.

Furthermore, we created the eCampus4LearnClub app. This app allows the user to interact on aspects related to the learning experience.
