Online Modality

Online Modality

The online training offer of the eCampus4Learn VLE is based on a modular architecture, which means that certain basic functions must be installed without which the operation of its infrastructure cannot be achieved. The modules required for online mode operation are the following:
basic module consisting of:

  • Virtual environment, including hardware architecture and software licences
  • Configuration of the VLE
  • Start up, necessary preliminary study to integrate the VLE with the university’s structure
  • Student management environment, consisting of two software packages, one for the administration of appeals and exam results and one to manage secretarial actions complementary to the bureaucratic ones (e-mail activation, course stop, portal opening, …)

design module, consisting of

  • EPPI editor, developed by eCampus4Learn, for uploading lessons
  • GPSP, for planning lessons delivered to students

To these indispensable modules are added other equally necessary components such as

  • a support-service Help Desk
  • basic authentication, teaching offer, news and events and thematic forums for the portal service;
  • a platform for lesson delivery;
  • basic secretarial services for the management of appeals, registrations and teacher/student records;
  • basic messaging system to enable dialogue between teachers and students;
  • a classroom management system and related software licences for the university’s planning with real-time updates, accessible via the web and in a printable version, to get a global view of the current teaching situation: which professor is giving a lesson, where and when.

Furthermore, the online university can be supplemented with additional services to complement the basic modes such as an SSO system for integrated authentication with the portal; the possibility of publishing messages from the administration office in the portal; live streaming of events; an e-Portfolio; a personal section with personal documents; self-assessment tests; integrated L2L services for recording 100 hours of video lessons; services for online recording and booking of examinations and online registration and enrolment; and call calendars; printing simple or digitally stamped online certificates; services for human resources management, in particular careers and salaries; a university research catalogue; a library consisting of PMB (library OPAC), MLOL (online digital library), SCOPUS and ISI (international databases); additions for the telephone or video reception of students; a management system for the administration of accommodation and canteen; training service for the use of the VLE; lesson upload service.
